Financial Accountant | Sydney | ASX-Listed Financial ServicesOur client is a highly regarded ASX-listed financial services organisation with a strong presence in the Australian market and an established, growing Finance function.An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join the Financial Control team. This is a broad role offering exposure across financial accounting, statutory reporting, regulatory requirements and financial control within a sophisticated and fast-paced environment.The role would suit an ambitious accountant looking to build their career within financial services, with excellent opportunities to develop technically and gain exposure to senior stakeholders.The RoleReporting to a senior member of the Financial Control team, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting across the business.Key responsibilities will include:Managing month-end accounting and reporting processesPreparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliationsSupporting statutory financial statement preparationAssisting with regulatory and prudential reportingSupporting tax and statutory lodgementsManaging and coordinating external audit requirementsInvestigating variances and providing financial analysisEnsuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policiesSupporting the implementation of accounting and regulatory changesContributing to finance projects and continuous improvement initiativesWorking closely with stakeholders across Finance and the wider businessAbout YouWe are looking for a technically strong accountant who is keen to continue developing within a high-performing financial services environment.You will ideally have:A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related disciplineCA or CPA qualified, or currently studying towards qualification3/5+ years' experience across accounting and financial reportingStrong month-end and reconciliation experienceSound technical accounting knowledge and understanding of accounting standardsExposure to statutory, regulatory or external reportingStrong Excel skillsExcellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracyStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsA proactive and collaborative approachFinancial services experience will be highly regarded. Big 4 or mid-tier audit experience, particularly within financial services, would also be highly relevant.
