Financial Accountant

Position: Accountant – International Finance Team (Remote, Europe)Location: Remote – Anywhere in EuropeTravel: Approximately 40% across EuropeOur client, a globally recognised organisation, is looking to appoint an experienced Accountant to join its international Accounting & Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, international environment and is keen to contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and controls.Working remotely from anywhere in Europe, the successful candidate will partner with finance teams and key stakeholders across multiple countries, supporting accounting activities while bringing a strong audit mindset to the role. Regular travel across Europe (approximately 40%) will be required, so candidates must be based within easy reach of an international airport.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the international Accounting & Finance team across multiple European locations.Apply audit knowledge to strengthen financial processes, controls, and compliance.Perform controls testing and assist with reviewing financial procedures to identify areas for improvement.Work closely with finance and business stakeholders to ensure consistent accounting standards and best practices.Analyse financial and operational data to support decision-making and process improvements.Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to improve efficiency within finance and accounting activities.Travel regularly across Europe to collaborate with local finance teams and business stakeholders.Candidate ProfileQualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).Previous experience within a Big 10 accounting firm or an in-house audit/accounting function.Strong exposure to external audit and/or internal audit processes.3-5 years experience within audit or accounting.Proficient in completing financial healthcare checksExperience performing controls testing and evaluating financial controls.Comfortable analysing data and using technology to improve business processes.Experience using AI tools, data analytics platforms, or solutions such as Claude would be highly advantageous.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.An additional European language would be highly desirable.Willingness to travel approximately 40% across Europe.Must be based anywhere in Europe and located within a reasonable distance of an international airport.What's on OfferFully remote working from anywhere in Europe.Opportunity to join a highly respected international organisation.Exposure to cross-border finance operations and senior stakeholders.A collaborative, forward-thinking environment embracing technology and AI within finance.Excellent long-term career development and international exposure.If you are a qualified accountant with an audit background and enjoy combining technical accounting expertise with international collaboration, process improvement, and modern technology, this represents an excellent opportunity to join a growing global finance team.
