As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our Finance team based in Bundaberg. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to contribute to a business with strong values, a collaborative culture, and an exciting future.Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting across allocated entities. The Financial Accountant is responsible for the preparation and accuracy of the general ledger, ensuring timeliness and accuracy in the delivery of financial reporting and month-end close processes. The role coordinates cash flow and ensures data integrity across the ledger. The Financial Accountant ensures compliance with all accounting standards, statutory responsibilities, and company policies and procedures within their scope of responsibility.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger and financial transactionsCoordinate and complete month-end close processes, including eliminations, consolidations, balance sheet reconciliations, and accrualsPrepare and assist with financial reporting, including month-end reportingFinance Business Partner role to provide financial insights and recommendations to improve performanceCoordinate asset management, lease accounting, and insurance renewal across the BBD GroupAssist with external audits, income tax processes, and implementation of audit recommendationsContribute to the treasury functionTransfer pricing policy implementationSupport the annual budgeting process and finance improvement projectsProvide support and training to the Assistant Accountant and backup across the accounting team as requiredTo be successful in this role, you will ideally have:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline.CA or CPA qualification.5–7 years' experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role with medium/large business experience including consolidation and eliminationsStrong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of Australian accounting standards.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.High attention to detail and accuracy.Strong communication and leadership/management skills.Excellent time management and organisational abilities.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.Apply NowIf you are a driven accounting professional looking to take the next step in your career, we'd love to hear from you.To apply, please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your experience and suitability for the role.
