Financial Accountant

I am partnering exclusively with a leading Australian financial services organisation to recruit a Financial Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant looking to build their career within a complex, ASX-listed financial services environment.The OpportunityThis role would suit a Financial Accountant with strong hands-on experience across month-end, financial reporting and reconciliations, who has previously managed the full end-to-end financial reporting lifecycle. You will take ownership of accounting and reporting from month-end close and reconciliations through to statutory financial statements. Alongside your BAU responsibilities, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to Finance projects, process improvements and changes across accounting and regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of accounting, reporting and reconciliation requirements across assigned corporate and trust entitiesPrepare balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accurate and timely month-end reportingProcess and review day-to-day financial transactions and investigate discrepanciesAssist with the preparation of statutory financial statements across corporate entities and trust structuresSupport ASX and ASIC external reporting requirementsAssist with APRA prudential reporting and regulatory submissionsSupport the external audit process across financial statements, AFSL and APRA requirementsPrepare monthly BAS and support income tax reporting requirementsPrepare regulatory and statistical reporting, including ABS submissionsPartner with stakeholders across Finance, Treasury, Tax, Risk & Compliance and OperationsContribute to Finance projects, regulatory changes and accounting standard changesIdentify opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting efficiencyAbout YouWe're looking for a technically strong Financial Accountant who enjoys taking ownership of their work and is looking to continue developing within a sophisticated finance environment.You will bring:Completed CA or CPA qualification3+ years' experience within financial accountingStrong hands-on experience across month-end, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reportingExposure to statutory reporting and external auditStrong Excel skills and experience working with ERP/accounting systemsExcellent attention to detail with the ability to deliver accurate work within tight deadlinesStrong communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across the broader businessA proactive and collaborative approach with an interest in process improvementFinancial services experience would be highly regardedExperience within an ASX-listed or similarly complex corporate environment would be advantageousAPRA or other regulatory reporting exposure would be highly regarded but is not essentialWhat's on OfferOpportunity to join a leading Australian financial services organisationBroad role spanning financial control, statutory reporting, regulatory reporting and project workWork alongside an experienced and supportive Finance teamStrong exposure to stakeholders across Finance, Treasury, Tax, Risk & Compliance and OperationsGenuine opportunity to continue developing your technical accounting and financial services experience
