Financial Accountant Job DescriptionJOB DESCRIPTIONFinancial AccountantLocation: Dubai, UAE (Dubai Investment Park showroom, on site)Reports to: Hussain, Head of FinanceWorks closely with: Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Senior Accountant, Accountant, external auditors, and the CompassPoint fractional CFO teamPackage: AED 10,000 to AED 12,000 per month, plus [visa, medical insurance, annual leave and air ticket as per UAE labour law]OVERVIEWWe are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to take ownership of the accounting record at Park Lane Motors. You will support the Finance Lead with the management and governance of the group's finance operations across the trading entities, and you will be accountable for the general ledger, the monthly close, taxation and statutory audit.This is a build role rather than a maintenance role. The company has grown from AED 18 million to AED 104 million of revenue in three years and the finance function needs to catch up with the business. Your first mandate is to make the accounting system the single source of truth: clearing the reconciliation backlog, closing the books monthly to a fixed calendar, and producing management accounts that the founders and prospective investors can rely on.The Financial Accountant will work closely with the Finance Lead and will deputise for the Finance Lead when required. They will be a key point of contact for finance matters across sales, sourcing, operations, document control and the group's banking and lending partners.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOwn the monthly close. Maintain a documented close calendar and deliver a closed trial balance and management accounts (profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow) within the agreed timetable each month.Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, and perform detailed general ledger account analysis across all group entities.Own the vehicle stock ledger. Ensure every unit in inventory carries a complete and accurate cost build up covering purchase price, reconditioning, detailing, parts, registration and transfer costs, and allocated finance cost, so that gross margin can be reported reliably per vehicle.Reconcile the accounting record to the operational deal tracker and stock sheet, and retire the parallel spreadsheet reporting so that one set of numbers is in use across the business.Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations with supporting schedules, including inventory, prepayments, accruals, related party balances and all bank and facility accounts.Complete monthly bank reconciliations across all accounts and clear the legacy unreconciled balances.Account for the consignment model correctly, including revenue presentation, partner profit share obligations and settlement schedules.Maintain schedules for all funding sources, including private lender positions, institutional and buy now pay later facilities, and consignment partner funding. Accrue finance costs accurately, monitor utilisation and flag overage exposure at 90 and 120 days to the Finance Lead.Account for franchise and new vehicle activity, including distributor invoicing, rebates and manufacturer support, and for finance and insurance referral income, warranty and value added service revenue.Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across the group entities, maintain the related party schedule, and support consolidation on an IFRS basis.Build and maintain the fixed asset register, document the capitalisation policy for showroom fit out and reconditioning assets, and apply depreciation consistently.Prepare and file quarterly VAT returns, and ensure tax invoices are raised at the point of transfer rather than in catch up mode. Support UAE corporate tax computation and filing.Ensure compliance with all local statutory and regulatory obligations across mainland and free zone entities, working with appointed third parties.Act as the primary day to day contact for the external auditors, prepare audit files and clear the outstanding audit cycles.Perform monthly profit and loss review and variance analysis alongside the Finance Lead and the fractional CFO team, and support the annual budget and reforecast process.Support the reporting and dashboard build by ensuring the underlying accounting data is complete, accurate and consistently coded.Identify opportunities for process improvement, document standard operating procedures, and strengthen internal controls over cash, card takings, payment release and stock.Comply with internal policies and procedures and support the company's mission and vision.KEY DELIVERABLES IN THE FIRST 90 DAYSAll bank accounts reconciled in the accounting system with the legacy unreconciled balance cleared and explained.A documented monthly close calendar in operation, with the trial balance closed and management accounts issued to an agreed deadline.Gross margin per vehicle reported from the accounting system and agreed to the operational deal tracker, with the parallel spreadsheet reporting withdrawn.Fixed asset register built, with capitalisation and depreciation policy documented and approved.Audit files for the outstanding cycles handed to the external auditor with reconciled supporting schedules.ABOUT PARK LANE MOTORSPark Lane Motors is a Dubai based automotive retailer founded in 2021, operating from a flagship 25,000 sq ft showroom in Dubai Investment Park. Arabic is advantageous.Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to hold the line on process with commercial colleagues.Sound working knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT and UAE corporate tax.Strong systems skills. Practical experience of QuickBooks Online is a significant advantage, alongside advanced Excel.Comfortable working in a business where volume is high, documentation arrives late, and priorities move.EDUCATION AND BACKGROUNDFully qualified or working towards ACCA, ACA, ACMA or equivalent.Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration.5 plus years of experience in a finance role, with progressive experience in a multi entity organisation.
