Financial Accountant

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Financial Accountant to join a well-established global business operating across the food and supply chain industry.With operations across Australia, the UK, Europe and the US, the business works with customers and partners across international food supply chains, combining deep industry expertise, market intelligence and technology to deliver efficient and commercially focused supply chain solutions.Based in London and reporting to the Finance Manager – UK & Europe, this is a broad, hands-on accounting role supporting the day-to-day finance function while ensuring accurate and timely financial and management reporting across the region.The RoleReporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:Assisting with monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reportingMonth-end reporting and close activitiesPreparing and maintaining balance sheet reconciliationsSupporting the preparation of statutory accounts and reporting requirementsAssisting with the year-end audit and preparation of audit schedulesManaging and supporting Accounts Payable and Accounts ReceivableMonitoring customer accounts and outstanding invoicesOverseeing supplier payments within agreed payment termsPreparing daily cash position reportingEnsuring financial records are accurate and up to dateIdentifying opportunities to improve finance processes, systems and proceduresWorking closely with key stakeholders across the wider businessProviding additional support to the Finance Manager and finance team as requiredAbout YouTo be successful in this role, you will ideally have:Relevant accounting/finance qualifications or tertiary educationApproximately 2+ years' accounting experienceStrong month-end and balance sheet reconciliation experienceExposure to AP and AR functionsGood working knowledge of Microsoft Office and accounting systemsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and organisational skillsThe ability to work independently and as part of a teamConfidence communicating with stakeholders across the businessA proactive, hands-on approach and ability to work to deadlinesStrong MS Excel skills and exposure to NetsuiteExperience within the food, agribusiness, supply chain or logistics sectors would be highly regarded but is not essential.This is a hybrid role- 3 days per week in the office.This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their accounting career within an established international business, working closely with an experienced finance team and gaining exposure across the UK and European operations.
