Financial Accountant

Financial AccountantOur high growth client in the energy services industry are looking for a new Financial Accountant to join their team in London. Reporting into the Finance Director, this is a key role where you will support the financial running of the business, including month end, statutory accounts, year-end audit as well as ad-hoc analysis and business partnering.Key responsibilitiesSupport the month-end close process, including preparation and posting of journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.Assist with the production of accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs.Prepare reporting submissions and supporting analysis for review by the Group Finance team.Support the preparation of statutory accounts and the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors where required.Ensure accounting records are maintained in line with relevant accounting standards, internal controls and Group policies.Investigate variances, review financial performance and provide clear supporting commentary to stakeholders.Assist with cash flow reporting, forecasting and wider finance projects as required.Support the integration of newly acquired businesses and help drive ongoing process improvements across the finance function.About youQualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)Experience gained within a financial accounting, audit or management accounting role.Strong technical accounting foundation, with exposure to statutory accounts and audit processes.Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving environment.Strong Excel and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.Previous experience in an listed, multi-entity, energy, infrastructure, renewable or acquisitive business would be advantageous, but is not essential.
