Financial Accountant

A high-performing, fast-paced boutique financial services firm is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its finance team. This is a commercially-minded role offering direct exposure to the CFO and senior stakeholders across the business.The RoleReporting to the CFO, the Financial Accountant will play a key role in the finance function, contributing to both day-to-day accounting operations and broader process improvement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant looking to move into a commercial, in-house environment with genuine senior stakeholder exposure.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsSupport month-end and year-end close processesAssist with statutory reporting, audit preparation, and liaison with external auditorsAnalyse financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for the businessPartner with the CFO and senior stakeholders on ad hoc commercial and financial analysisIdentify and drive process improvements across finance operations, including opportunities to leverage AI and automation toolsMaintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirementsSupport budgeting and forecasting activities as requiredAbout YouQualified or finalist accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)Audit background strongly preferred (practice-trained)Circa 2 years' in-house experience within a financial services organisationStrong technical accounting knowledge and excellent data skillsComfortable working with and adopting AI tools to improve efficiencyA proactive, improvement-oriented mindset with a genuine interest in streamlining processesConfident communicator, able to build relationships with senior stakeholdersComfortable operating in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
