Apply & track with Apply EdgeFinancial AccountantAbout the CompanyWe are currently partnering with a well-established construction company with operations in Australia to recruit a Financial Accountant for its Sydney-based finance team.This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to join a dynamic organisation and contribute to financial reporting, compliance and business performance across its Australian operations.About the RoleReporting to the GM, you will play a key role in supporting the company’s financial accounting and reporting requirements. Your responsibilities will include:Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB)Managing general ledger activities, journal entries, account reconciliations and month-end closeSupporting statutory and tax compliance requirements, including GST and BASAssisting with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysisSupporting group reporting and consolidation requirementsLiaising with external auditors, tax advisers and other professional service providersWorking closely with internal stakeholders and overseas headquarters on financial reporting and related mattersContributing to the continuous improvement of finance processes, internal controls and accounting systemsProviding financial analysis and ad hoc support to the broader finance team as requiredQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related disciplineCA/CPA qualified, or currently working towards a CA/CPA qualificationMinimum 2–3 years’ relevant experience in financial accounting, corporate accounting or a similar finance roleSkills & ExperienceThe successful candidate will ideally demonstrate:Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and Australian tax and compliance requirementsStrong financial accounting, reconciliation and reporting skillsExperience with accounting or ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, MYOB, Xero or similar platformsStrong Excel and analytical skillsExcellent attention to detail and ability to meet reporting deadlinesStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environmentFluency in both Mandarin and English, written and spokenFull Australian working rightsExperience within a multinational or Chinese-invested organisation in Australia will be highly regarded.
