Alta Developers has been involved in several noteworthy projects throughout South Florida, including Cassia Residences, EON Flagler Village, CasaBella by B&B Italia, Pacifica Boynton Beach, and Quadro at the Miami Design District.The firm is committed to developing high-quality projects that combine thoughtful design, financial discipline, and long-term value creation, while continuing to pursue opportunities in emerging neighborhoods throughout South Florida.Role DescriptionAlta Developers is seeking a Junior Financial Analyst with a strong academic foundation in both finance and accounting to join our Miami office.This is a full-time, on-site position designed for an early-career professional who wants to develop a comprehensive understanding of both the financial and accounting sides of real estate development.The Analyst will work closely with our finance and accounting teams and will gain hands-on exposure to the financial reporting and accounting processes underlying our development projects. Responsibilities will include financial analysis, accounting and financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash-flow analysis, reconciliations, and project-level reporting.The role will also provide exposure to financial modeling, investment analysis, project development, financing, and other areas of the business. Over time, the Analyst will have the opportunity to take on broader analytical responsibilities across Alta Developers' development and investment activities.We are specifically looking for candidates who combine the analytical mindset of a finance professional with a strong understanding of accounting fundamentals.ResponsibilitiesAssist with project and corporate accounting, financial reporting, and month-end processesAnalyze financial statements, general ledger activity, project costs, cash flows, and budget-to-actual resultsAssist with account reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and supporting schedulesPrepare and maintain financial models, forecasts, budgets, and project-level reportsWork with project managers and accounting personnel to understand project costs, commitments, contracts, and cash requirementsAssist in analyzing real estate development projects and potential investment opportunitiesSupport due diligence, financing, and investment analysisConduct market research and analyze real estate and economic trendsPrepare financial reports and presentations for senior management and other stakeholdersIdentify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities through detailed financial analysisCollaborate across accounting, finance, development, asset management, and other areas of the organizationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Real Estate, or a related fieldStrong academic background in both finance and accountingCandidates should have completed multiple college-level accounting courses, with coursework such as Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Cost Accounting, or similar strongly preferredCoursework or experience in Corporate Finance, Financial Analysis, Investments, Real Estate Finance, or Financial Modeling preferredStrong understanding of the three primary financial statements and how they relate to one anotherFamiliarity with accounting concepts including accrual accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparationStrong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong overall Microsoft Office skillsAbility and desire to work with detailed financial and accounting informationStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple teamsHigh level of attention to detail, organization, and accountabilityPrior internship or professional experience in real estate, finance, accounting, investment banking, private equity, or a related field is a plus0–2 years of professional experience preferredIdeal CandidateThe ideal candidate is someone who is equally comfortable working through the details of an accounting schedule and analyzing the financial performance of a real estate investment.This position is particularly well suited for a recent graduate or early-career professional who studied finance but also pursued substantial accounting coursework—or an accounting graduate with a strong interest in finance, investments, and real estate.We are looking for someone who wants to understand not only how to analyze financial results, but how those results are created from the underlying accounting and operating activity of a business.The position offers significant exposure to the full lifecycle of real estate development and an opportunity to build a strong foundation across accounting, corporate finance, project finance, financial modeling, and real estate investment analysis.
