Financial Controller

About the OpportunityA leading and well-established organization within the maritime industry is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join its finance leadership team based in Dubai.This role is responsible for overseeing the company's financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong governance and compliance standards, and providing strategic financial support to senior management. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving financial performance, enhancing internal controls, and supporting the organization's continued growth.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.Ensure compliance with IFRS, statutory requirements, and internal financial policies.Manage the annual budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with business stakeholders.Perform financial analysis, variance reporting, and provide strategic recommendations to management.Develop and maintain effective internal controls and financial governance frameworks.Lead external audits and coordinate with auditors and regulatory authorities.Oversee treasury and cash flow management, including liquidity planning and banking relationships.Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations.Manage corporate tax, VAT, transfer pricing, and tax planning activities.Support senior management with financial insights to improve business performance and profitability.Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost optimization, and operational efficiencies.RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CA is highly preferred.Minimum 8-10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a Financial Controller or similar leadership role.Previous experience within the Maritime, Shipping, Logistics, Commodities Trading, or Marine industry is highly desirable.Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, budgeting, treasury, taxation, and internal controls.Experience managing external audits and regulatory compliance.Strong analytical and commercial mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Experience working in a fast-paced, international business environment.What We OfferCompetitive salary and benefits package.Opportunity to join a dynamic international organization.Exposure to regional and global finance operations.Collaborative and high-performing work environment.Career growth and leadership development opportunities.
