Controller – DistributionLocation: North Miami, FL (Onsite)About the OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to join our growing distribution organization in North Miami. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the company's accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and leading the month-end close process. The Controller will manage a team of five accounting professionals and partner closely with executive leadership to support the company's continued growth.If you're a proactive accounting leader who enjoys improving processes, mentoring teams, and working in a fast-paced distribution environment, we'd love to hear from you.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the full monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.Oversee the general ledger, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of five accounting professionals.Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies and procedures.Review and analyze financial results, identifying trends and providing meaningful insights to leadership.Maintain strong internal controls and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.Partner with operations and other cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and financial decision-making.Coordinate external audits and assist with tax and regulatory reporting.Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and other financial planning activities.Drive continuous improvement within the accounting function and help scale processes as the business grows.Why Join Us?Excellent opportunity to join a stable and growing distribution company.Visible leadership role with direct impact on the business.Opportunity to build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.Career growth with advancement potential as the organization continues to expand.Collaborative, team-oriented culture where your ideas and leadership are valued.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.Experience in the distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, or inventory-intensive industry strongly preferred.Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.Proven experience managing the full month-end close and general ledger.Prior experience leading and developing an accounting team.Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.Advanced proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
