Financial ControllerSouth Derbyshire | Site Based£70,000 - £80,000 + BenefitsEaton Syalon are delighted to be exclusively retained by a successful, growing SME to recruit an experienced Financial Controller.This is a pivotal appointment within the business, reporting directly to an experienced CFO and leading the day to day finance function. With continued investment and ambitious growth plans, the business is looking for someone who can combine strong financial control with excellent leadership and the ability to continually improve processes, reporting and ways of working.This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller who enjoys operating within a fast-paced SME environment where they can genuinely influence the direction of the finance function.The OpportunityAs the CFO's number two, you'll take responsibility for the day to day running of the finance department, ensuring robust financial control whilst leading and developing an established finance team.This is a broad operational role where you'll balance delivering high-quality financial reporting with supporting commercial decision making and driving continuous improvement across the finance function.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the day to day finance function and manage an established finance team.Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts and supporting analysis.Oversee all financial operations, ensuring strong controls, governance and compliance.Manage cashflow, working capital and treasury activities.Lead the year end audit and statutory reporting process.Drive improvements across finance systems, reporting and internal processes.Partner with operational leaders to provide meaningful commercial insight.Support budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning alongside the CFO.Develop and mentor the finance team whilst embedding best practice across the function.About YouWe're looking for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working in a growing SME where they can make a visible impact.You'll ideally bring:ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Senior Finance Manager.Experience gained within a growing owner managed, entrepreneurial or private equity backed SME.Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience overseeing day to day financial operations.A proven track record of leading, developing and motivating finance teams.Experience improving finance processes, controls and reporting.Strong business partnering skills with the confidence to influence stakeholders across the organisation.A hands on approach with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational delivery.Why Apply?This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to join a successful business at an important stage of its growth.Working closely with an experienced CFO, you'll become their trusted number two, taking ownership of the finance function whilst helping shape its future as the business continues to evolve.
