Egham | £70k-£80k | Permanent | Full-timeAre you an experienced Financial Controller looking for a role where you can take ownership of the finance function and play a key part in supporting the wider business?This well-established and growing company is looking for a capable and commercially minded Financial Controller to join their team. Reporting directly to the Directors, you will take responsibility for the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, while overseeing a range of core accounting and finance activities.The RoleThis is a broad Financial Controller position with responsibility across financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cashflow, audit, taxation and the day-to-day management of the finance team.You will work closely with the Directors and other departments across the business, providing accurate financial information and helping to identify opportunities to improve financial performance.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare statutory accounts and monthly management accountsUse Sage Line 50 as part of the day-to-day finance functionPrepare budgets and forecasts and monitor actual performance against budgetAnalyse and report on variancesManage cashflow and cashflow projectionsReview reports produced by the finance team, ensuring accuracy and completenessSupport the financial health and profitability of the business through financial analysis and recommendationsRecommend improvements to financial policies and proceduresManage relationships with accountants, auditors, banks, insurers and other professional organisationsCoordinate the annual audit and prepare supporting documentationEnsure compliance with relevant government regulationsOversee taxation and ensure all tax payments are made on timeDeal with HMRC queriesReview payroll and maintain accurate records of loans, advances and deductionsOversee insurance matters, including claimsOversee fleet-related finance administration, including PCNs, mileage and insuranceManage and prioritise the workload of the finance teamMaintain accurate financial records and documentationProvide financial support to the Directors and respond to queries from across the businessProvide cover for the wider finance team and support with ad hoc duties as requiredAbout YouQualified accountant with a strong understanding of financial reporting and the wider finance function.
