Applicants can join a niche, security-focused organization recognized and assessed by UK Government bodies.Role Description The Financial Controller is a full-time, hybrid role based in March, with flexibility for some work from home. This role oversees day-to-day financial operations, including managing the month-end and year-end close, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and ensuring accurate financial reporting in line with relevant standards. The Financial Controller maintains robust accounting processes, supervises bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and payroll, and monitors cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting to support strategic decision-making. The role includes analyzing financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities, supporting audits, implementing internal controls, and providing clear financial insights to senior leadership. The Financial Controller collaborates with operational and project teams to align financial management with the company’s maritime security objectives.Qualifications Strong accounting and finance skills, including experience with Accounting principles and practical Finance management.Proficiency in preparing and reviewing Financial Statements and Financial Reporting in compliance with applicable standards.Advanced Analytical Skills to interpret financial data, support budgeting and forecasting, and inform strategic decisions.Experience implementing and maintaining internal controls, audit support, and compliance with regulatory and tax requirements.Relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role.Strong proficiency with accounting software and Excel, including reconciliations, reporting, and financial modeling.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, defense, or security-related environment is an advantage.
