258 Group is looking for a Financial Controller to own the day to day financial operations, reporting and compliance for the group, and keep the numbers accurate and trusted.Reporting to our (fractional) CFO and working closely with the finance team and divisional leaders, you'll run financial reporting, budgeting execution, cashflow operations and audit processes. This is a hands on, transactional role at heart: you own the detail and the delivery, while the CFO owns the strategy.You'll take ownership of the day to day delivery of KPIs and tasks, keeping the finance function running accurately and on time.What's on offer•    Salary: £45,000 to £50,000, depending on experience.•    Location: Mostly home based, with key regular visits to a central location in the UK •    Benefits: 26 days annual leave, plus statutory days, Pension and KPIS based. What you'll ownFinancial operations and reporting: Prepare timely, accurate financial statements and management reports; lead month end and year end close; pull together analysis on profitability and contribution margin by division, client and product.Compliance and audit: Keep on top of statutory reporting, tax obligations and financial regulations, and support external audits.Budgeting and cost control: Manage cashflow, debtor concentration and credit control, support the annual budgeting process, and help drive cost efficiency.Team support: Support and help develop a small finance team, and pitch in on system and process improvements.CFO support: Give the CFO accurate, timely data and insight, and act as the day to day finance point of contact for divisional leaders.Essential skills Part-qualified or qualified accountant (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or ACA), or equivalent hands on experience Proven experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar hands on finance roleStrong financial reporting and financial statements skills, including preparation, review, and interpretation of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.Experience of managing general ledger, month-end close, and adherence to relevant accounting standards.Experience of analytical skills to perform variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and data-driven financial decision support.Proficiency in accounting systems, including Sage, Advanced Excel and moreStrong background in financial reporting and month end and year end close Comfortable with audit processes, tax compliance and statutory filingsExperience managing cashflow, credit control and budget performanceExperience in logistics, e-commerce, retail, or marketing services environments is beneficial, along with familiarity with UK regulatory and tax requirements is highly desirable.  Clear, confident communication across the finance team, the CFO and divisional leadersYou act with integrity, accountability and ownership, and bring a resilient, driven approach to a fast moving group.
