This is a role for someone who wants to lead the finance function but also genuinely enjoys being in the details - from monthly close to construction loan draws to land purchase analysis.What Our Client Has to OfferBase salary: $100,000–$120,000Discretionary annual bonusComprehensive benefits packageRRSP matching programCPA membership dues covered + continuing education 4 weeks vacationFully onsite role with direct exposure to ownership and senior leadershipGenuine scope to shape financial processes and controls, not just maintain themWhat You'll DoOwn day-to-day accounting operations, including AR, AP, GL, cost accounting, government remittances, inventory accounting, banking, revenue recognition, and payrollLead the annual budget process, financial forecasting, and variance analysisPrepare and publish monthly financial statementsProvide financial analysis and strategic counsel on land and lot purchase opportunitiesBuild pro-forma statements and cash flow analyses to support new business decisionsManage daily cash requirements and banking across multiple companies and project accountsPrepare monthly and long-term cash flow forecastsDevelop detailed construction project budgets and cash flowsCoordinate monthly construction loan funding with lawyers and lendersLiaise with cost consultants and prepare documentation supporting construction loan drawsDevelop, document, and communicate internal control policies and accounting proceduresManage government reporting requirements and tax filingsSupport month-end and year-end close processesResearch technical accounting issues to maintain complianceMentor and oversee one direct reportWhat You BringCPA, CGA, CMA, CA designation5+ years of combined accounting and finance experience in construction Strong full-cycle accounting knowledge, including budgeting and cost controlExperience with Sage accounting software is preferred Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlinesConfidence interacting with management, ownership, external partners, and staffThis posting is for an open vacancy currently available within our client's organization.
