Apply & track with Apply EdgePrimary Function:Pacific Rim Mechanical is seeking a highly motivated Financial Controller to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, and finance transformation initiatives.This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial information, strong internal controls, and insightful reporting while helping modernize processes through automation, AI, and technology.The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with a passion for continuous improvement and business partnership.Typical Duties:
- Lead monthly and annual financial close processes and prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements.
- Oversee construction accounting, job costing, revenue recognition, WIP reporting, and project profitability analysis.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, banking covenants, and internal controls.
- Partner with operations and project management teams to improve financial performance and visibility.
- Manage audits and reviews.
- Develop, coach, and lead a high-performing accounting team.
- Drive finance transformation initiatives that improve efficiency, reporting, and decision-making.
- Identify and implement AI, automation, and business intelligence solutions that reduce manual work and enhance financial insights.
- Support strategic initiatives, ERP enhancements, and process improvement efforts.What Success Looks Like

- Trusted business partner to operations and executive leadership.Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA/CCIFP preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility.
- Construction, mechanical contracting, engineering, or project-based industry experience required.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, job costing, WIP schedules, and construction revenue recognition.
- Experience with ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and process automation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, improve processes, and influence business decisions.We're looking for someone who is:
