Financial Controller

Role SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join the finance team supporting a massive international sports event in Saudi Arabia. This is a contract-based opportunity for a finance professional with strong financial control, reporting, budgeting, and compliance experience.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day financial control activities for the project.Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and project financial reports.Monitor budgets, forecasts, actual expenditure, and financial commitments.Analyse budget variances and provide clear explanations and recommendations.Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of financial transactions.Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow, and general ledger activities.Review invoices, payment requests, purchase orders, and supporting documentation.Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.Support project budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.Coordinate with procurement, operations, commercial, and other project teams on financial matters.Prepare financial data and reports for senior management.Support audits and provide required financial documentation.Identify financial risks, discrepancies, and control issues and recommend corrective actions.Ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and maintained in line with required standards.Support month-end and year-end closing activities.Assist with additional financial reporting or control requirements throughout the project.Required SkillsFinancial Control | Budgeting & Forecasting | Financial Reporting | Variance Analysis | Management Accounts | Cash Flow Management | Month-End Closing | Accounts Payable & Receivable | General Ledger | Audit Support | Financial Compliance | Risk & Controls | Excel | ERP Systems | Stakeholder ManagementRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.Experience Requirement5+ years of relevant experience in financial control, accounting, finance management, or a similar role. Previous experience supporting large-scale events, sports, entertainment, hospitality, construction, infrastructure, or major projects is advantageous.Location / Work ModeKSA - Immediate start, contract duration until February 2027, fixed-term/project-based.
