Apply & track with Apply EdgeAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join a dynamic and diverse international consumer business in London.This is a broad financial control leadership role, responsible for overseeing a finance team and taking ownership of financial reporting, technical accounting, controls, governance and statutory compliance across multiple entities.The RoleYou will lead the Financial Accounting team and play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely reporting, a strong control environment and compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS and Group accounting policies.Key responsibilities will include:Leading, developing and coaching a team of Financial AccountantsOwning month-end and year-end financial close and reportingReviewing accounting entries, accruals, provisions and balance sheet reconciliationsProviding technical accounting guidance across IFRS and FRS 102Leading external audits and overseeing statutory accountsManaging Companies House, HMRC and other regulatory requirementsStrengthening financial controls, governance and risk managementDriving process improvement, automation and finance transformation initiativesPartnering with Finance, Operations, Sales and Marketing on accounting and reporting mattersWorking closely with Group Finance and senior stakeholders on reporting and strategic projectsAbout YouWe are looking for a fully qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with 3+ years' post-qualification experience, ideally gained within financial accounting, financial reporting or external audit.You will ideally have:Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP / FRS 102Proven experience managing external audits and statutory reportingPrevious experience managing, coaching or developing finance professionalsStrong financial controls and governance experienceExcellent stakeholder management and communication skillsA continuous improvement mindset, with an interest in automation and process enhancementThis would suit a technically strong accountant who enjoys leading a team, partnering with the wider business and improving the way finance operates, rather than a purely reporting-focused position.
