Reporting directly to the CFO and Managing Director, the Financial Controller sits on the firm's executive committee and plays an active role in the day-to-day management of the company. This is a role for a genuine free thinker — someone comfortable managing a team, external providers, and a range of internal stakeholders, with real autonomy to shape how the finance function operates.Key ResponsibilitiesTake day-to-day ownership of the accounting recordsUnderstand and own the month-end close processOwn the year-end close process and manage the statutory auditUnderstand and monitor the cashflow positionStay laser-focused on controlsDeliver timely, accurate and insightful management reportingPrepare annual financial statementsEnsure accurate tax compliance (VAT / CT / PSA, etc.)Manage key relationships, including the CFO, MD, shareholders and outsourced providersOwn the financial operationsParticipate in the management of the company through the executive committee (EXCO)Manage the finance teamSkills & ExperienceProfessional accounting qualificationStrong control focusExcellent communicatorProficient in Excel, including modellingExperience using Xero and its associated app stackClear initiative and ability to problem-solveProactive, with the ability to drive an agendaResilience and ability to prioritise with a long-term outlookGood accounting and tax knowledgeWhy This RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Financial Controller to join an established, highly respected professional services firm.
