Financial Controller / Head of Finance

A New York investment firm is hiring a finance lead. Their CFO is retiring after a long run, and they want someone to take over the function and, potentially, help build the next chapter as they look to launch a hedge fund.This is not a new build. The function is established and runs well. They need a safe pair of hands from day one, with room to grow into more.What you would own:→ The full accounting cycle across the management company and funds, month and quarter end close→ The fund administrator relationship, NAV, investor allocations and fund reporting→ Cash, treasury and banking→ Budgeting, expense management and the management company P&L→ Partner distributions, plus audit and tax alongside external advisersWho fits:→ Qualified accountant (CPA or equivalent), 5 to 10 years in fund finance→ Background in a hedge fund, prop trading firm or fund administrator→ Comfortable running finance solo in a lean setup→ Either a steady operator, or someone with the ambition to scale as the firm growsThey are open to both a steady profile and a growth profile, so if this is you or someone you rate, DM Lewis Cook.
