Apply & track with Apply EdgeWe are looking to hire a Financial Controller who will take end-to-end ownership of finance and accounting activities for our client - a fast-growing UK-based investment and financial markets with international operations.This is a full-time, hybrid role in Dubai. The position will be reporting directly to the General Manager & CEO.We are looking for a hands-on, commercially aware finance professional who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should be comfortable taking ownership across accounting, reporting, audit and day-to-day finance operations.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the day-to-day finance and accounting function end-to-end.Manage accruals, journals, reconciliations, payables and financial controls.Analyse financial statements and information received from investment/trading teams.Manage accounting for revenue, costs, associated expenses and equity-related transactions.Prepare management accounts, financial reports, analysis and cash-flow information.Take ownership of accounts payable and vendor management.Treasury management support including banking relationships and cash monitoringCoordination of external audits, statutory reporting and supporting documentationAssistance with regulatory finance reporting and capital monitoring activitiesDevelopment and maintenance of finance procedures, controls and governance frameworksSupport statutory and regulatory reporting across multiple jurisdictions.Help develop finance dashboards and reporting, with Power BI or similar experience being an advantage.Improve processes, controls and reporting as the business continues to scale.
Qualifications
5-8 years of relevant finance/accounting experience.ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent qualification preferred.Ideally experience within an investment, trading, brokerage, financial markets, banking, FinTech or similar financial services environment.Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly accruals, journals, reconciliations, revenue and cost accounting.Experience working with investment/trading statements and financial information.Strong audit and financial reporting experience.Experience managing vendors and accounts payable.Xero experience is highly desirable.Exposure to UK and/or international accounting and regulatory environments is an advantage.Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.Quick, highly-adaptable, hands-on and commercially minded, with the ability to work independently and take ownership.Availability: Preference will be given to candidates available immediately or a maximum of 30 days after accepting the offer.
