Financial Crime Compliance Risk ManagerLondon | PermanentTechnology | Financial Crime | Data | Risk ManagementWe are working exclusively with a leading UK-regulated financial institution that is strengthening its Financial Crime Risk Management capability and investing in the technology, data and analytics underpinning its control environment.This is a highly technology-focused Financial Crime role and will suit someone who combines strong second-line Financial Crime expertise with genuine hands-on experience of Financial Crime systems, data, monitoring technology, risk modelling and system optimisation.This is not a traditional policy or advisory FCC position. We are looking for someone who understands how Financial Crime controls work within technology and data environments, and who can translate regulatory and financial crime risks into effective systems, models, controls and MI.The RoleReporting into the senior Financial Crime leadership team, you will take ownership of the day-to-day Financial Crime Compliance Risk Management framework, with a particular emphasis on technology, data analytics, risk assessment methodologies and the effectiveness of Financial Crime monitoring systems.You will work closely with Compliance, Technology, Data and business stakeholders to identify risks and control gaps, improve Financial Crime systems and develop data-driven insight for senior management and Board-level audiences.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Crime TechnologyLead the implementation, enhancement and optimisation of Financial Crime technology solutions.Manage and continuously improve Financial Crime systems and supporting technology.Assess system capability, identify gaps and drive improvements across the Financial Crime technology landscape.Work closely with Technology and business stakeholders to ensure Financial Crime requirements are effectively translated into system solutions.Support the automation and optimisation of Financial Crime processes and controls.Financial Crime Risk Assessment & ModellingDevelop and execute sophisticated Financial Crime risk assessment methodologies.Design quantitative and qualitative risk assessment models using financial crime data.Develop multifactorial Country Risk Assessments, country risk tables, gap analysis and impact assessments.Develop Customer Risk Assessment methodologies, including weighted-average mathematical models and automated risk scorecards.Support the development of Business-Wide Financial Crime Risk Assessments incorporating data collection, modelling and quantitative analysis.Translate assessment outcomes into practical remediation and risk mitigation actions.Transaction Monitoring & ScreeningAssess and improve the effectiveness of Transaction Monitoring systems and controls.Conduct rule-based testing, data mapping and data transmission assessments.Identify gaps between source data, system configuration and expected Financial Crime outcomes.Support the development and optimisation of Transaction Monitoring rules, scenarios and thresholds.Apply a statistical and data-driven approach to scenario and parameter setting.Bring practical knowledge of Transaction Monitoring, Name Screening and Payment Screening technologies.Data, MI & AnalyticsAnalyse complex Financial Crime datasets to identify emerging risks, control weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.Develop meaningful MI, dashboards and reporting for senior management, committees and Board audiences.Turn complex data into clear, actionable risk insight.Support regulatory reporting and annual MLRO reporting.Develop reporting and analytics that enable senior stakeholders to make informed Financial Crime risk decisions.Controls & ProcessDevelop and enhance Financial Crime controls, processes and monitoring frameworks.Identify opportunities for automation and technology-led improvements.Support ODD and onboarding process initiatives.Undertake control effectiveness assessments and follow-up remediation activity.Provide advisory support and contribute to referrals and ODD reviews where required.What We're Looking ForThe successful candidate will have a strong background in Financial Crime Compliance within a UK-regulated banking environment, but crucially will also have a deep understanding of the technology and data supporting Financial Crime controls.You should be able to demonstrate:Strong Financial Crime Compliance experience, ideally within a second-line function.Approximately 5+ years' experience within a UK-regulated bank.Proven experience implementing, enhancing, configuring or optimising Financial Crime technology systems.Strong practical understanding of Transaction Monitoring, Name Screening and Payment Screening solutions.Experience working extensively with Financial Crime data and technology platforms.Experience with data mapping, data transmission, system testing, rules/scenarios and threshold optimisation.Experience developing Financial Crime risk assessment methodologies, scoring models or control-testing frameworks.Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interrogate data and convert it into meaningful risk conclusions.Experience working with Technology/Data teams and translating Financial Crime requirements into technology solutions.Strong understanding of risk management and control effectiveness.Excellent report writing, stakeholder management and presentation skills.An awareness of how AI can be applied to Financial Crime Risk Management.Financial Crime Technology ExperienceExperience with one or more recognised Financial Crime platforms would Refinitiv | Dow JonesYou do not need experience across every platform.
