Finance Director | CA(SA)📍 Cape Town | Hybrid💼 Commercial & Industrial Solar DistributionR150 000 - R180 000 CTC + BenefitsA high-growth energy infrastructure distribution business operating across multiple African markets is looking for an experienced Finance Director to join its leadership team.The business operates within an international group structure with multiple local operating subsidiaries, including manufacturing and distribution operations. With significant growth forecast over the next 18–24 months, this is an opportunity for a commercially minded finance leader to play a key role in scaling the Group and its finance function.To match this growth, the Group is searching for a Finance Director who is ready to step into a Group Chief Financial Officer role reporting directly to the CEO with accountability to the Board.

Key Responsibilities

Lead consolidated financial control, reporting and governance across the Group and its operating subsidiaries.Develop and oversee Group-level working capital strategy within an import-distribution model.Drive capital allocation decisions across trading, manufacturing and other Group entities.Manage debt funding requirements, covenant compliance and lender/noteholder reporting.Act as the primary finance contact for lenders and funding stakeholders.Lead FX exposure management and hedging strategies across foreign-currency transactions and intercompany invoicing.Oversee transfer pricing strategy across the cross-border Group structure, working closely with external tax advisers.Lead, develop and scale the finance function as the business continues to grow.Provide leadership to a lean, multi-jurisdictional finance team, including the Head of Financial Operations and outsourced CFO support.Partner closely with the CEO and Board on financial performance, strategic initiatives, funding and risk.Provide insight and commercial guidance to support the Group's continued expansion into new markets and channels.

Requirements

CA(SA) or equivalent professional qualification.8 -10 years' post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership/C-suite role.Proven experience operating at executive and Board level, with direct exposure to Boards, lenders and/or noteholders (non-negotiable).Experience within import-distribution, trading, industrial or manufacturing environments is highly advantageous (non-negotiable).Demonstrated experience scaling finance functions through periods of rapid growth and transformation.Strong experience in cross-border Group reporting and multi-currency environments (non-negotiable).Practical experience with debt funding, covenant compliance and lender reporting.Strong understanding of FX exposure and hedging (non-negotiable).Experience with transfer pricing within a cross-border Group structure would be advantageous.Comfortable leading a lean team across multiple jurisdictions and time zones.High level of commercial judgement, integrity and the ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
