Finance Director/ CFO, Bougainville, Papua New GuineaMining and Resources | Full-time | Role based in Bougainville, Papua New Guinea | Open to candidates currently in DubaiAbout the roleOur client, an established mining and resources group, is hiring a Finance Director to lead the finance function of its DR Congo operations. You will own financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, tax and statutory compliance, and act as the main finance partner to the country leadership and group head office.This role is based in DR Congo. We are speaking with candidates currently in Dubai who are ready to relocate.Key responsibilitiesLead the full finance function for the Bougainville, Papua New Guinea entity, including accounting, treasury, tax, and reporting teams.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under IFRS and deliver them to group finance on schedule.Build and manage the annual budget, forecasts, and capital expenditure plans for mining operations.Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and funding requirements for the site.Ensure compliance with DRC tax, mining royalty, customs, and statutory requirements, and manage relationships with local authorities and auditors.Strengthen internal controls, risk management, and audit readiness.Advise the leadership team on costs, margins, and investment decisions.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, plus a professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).Minimum 12 years of finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role.Proven experience in the mining industry. This is essential.Strong experience working in the Africa region or in DR Congo itself.Willingness to relocate to Bougainville, Papua New Guinea and be based on site or in country.Strong knowledge of IFRS and group reporting.Working knowledge of French is an advantage.What we offerA competitive package, structured around your experience.A senior role with direct access to country and group leadership.
