Become a future leader at O-I and take the first step toward an exciting career in finance!FLDP Internship OverviewThis program is designed to prepare and identify candidates for our full-time positions in the Financial Leadership Development Program. Ultimately, the Financial Leadership Development Program (FLDP) is structured in a way to prepare individuals for leadership roles in accounting and finance at O-I. In order to achieve maximum personal growth and professional exposure through your internship experience, you will rotate through the following teams within our America’s North Region: Commercial Finance, Accounting, Operations Finance, and Financial Planning & Analysis. Regardless of where you start, you are sure to find challenge and opportunity.The program includes a fluid rotation schedule, all located in Perrysburg, OH.You will take on deep-dive assignments tailored to your development goals and organizational needs. Throughout the program you will find mentorship amongst the program leader, rotational managers, and other FLDPs. Regular check-ins with both the FLDP leader and your rotation manager will support your progress, help address challenges, and explore opportunities for advancement throughout the program and beyond.To Be Successful In This Program, One Should HaveAbility to analyze complex problems and make data-driven decisionsNatural curiosity, eagerness to learn, and strategic thinkingHigh motivation with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a teamExcellent communication and presentation skillsInitiative and adaptability in dynamic environmentsProgram GuidelinesYou will be exposed to meaningful projects, shadowing, and mentorship opportunities in some of the areas listed below. The rotations can occur in any order, in 2-4wk increments.Accounting: You will work with the Assistant Controller and Operations Analysts on the financial aspects of the operation. Specific duties may include preparation of journal entries, fixed assets, inventory accounting, month-end/year-end closing, and monthly Sarbanes-Oxley reporting/execution.Commercial Finance: You will work with the Commercial Finance manager and analysts on various pricing and profitability analyses. Specific duties may include customer specific financial modeling, margin analysis, creation of price proposals, and supporting with reference materials and presentations to leadership.Financial Planning & Analysis: You will work with the FP&A manager and analysts on activities related to financial reporting and analysis. Specific duties may include period over period comparison, key metric review, and reporting refresh utilizing our financial reporting software.Operations Finance: You will work with the Operations Controller on various activities related to forecasting and reporting at the manufacturing plant level. Specific duties may include labor and benefit tracking, controllable vs noncontrollable spend review, and plant level forecast analysis.Other Global and Regional Finance Teams as opportunities arise!QualificationsPursuing a business degree with an Accounting or Finance with a strong GPA. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Foreign language skills are a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
