As the business continues to grow, the Financial Planning Analyst will play an important role in ensuring advisors have the analysis, modeling, recommendations, and planning materials necessary to deliver an exceptional client experience. This is primarily a behind-the-scenes analytical and planning position rather than a client-facing sales role. The Financial Planning Analyst will work closely with advisors before client and prospect meetings, transforming financial information into thoughtful, accurate financial plans, investment proposals, portfolio recommendations, and other strategic planning materials.Approximately 70% of the work currently supports prospective and new clients, with the remaining time focused on planning and analysis for existing client relationships. This opportunity is particularly well suited for someone who has built a foundation in wealth management or financial services and wants to continue developing their technical expertise and career within a growing organization. What You'll Do· Gather, organize, and analyze financial information in preparation for advisor meetings with prospective and existing clients.· Develop comprehensive financial planning analyses and recommendations based on each client's financial situation, objectives, investments, and planning needs.· Prepare and modify financial planning and investment/advisory proposals.· Complete financial modeling and scenario analysis to help advisors evaluate potential strategies.· Prepare annual review materials for existing advisory clients.· Analyze existing investment portfolios and assist in identifying potential opportunities or alternative strategies.· Evaluate asset allocation.· Obtain necessary information and direction from financial advisors and translate that information into complete, accurate financial planning deliverables.· Create and maintain financial plans using PX and other Northwestern Mutual planning tools and systems.· Work across financial planning modules, including asset allocation, investments, insurance, and other components of a client's financial picture.· Review plans, proposals, calculations, and client-facing materials for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.· Identify missing information, inconsistencies, or potential issues rather than relying on advisors or managers to catch them.· Utilize approved AI tools and technology to improve efficiency, analysis, and quality control while maintaining a high standard of independent review.· Manage multiple client cases and priorities simultaneously while consistently meeting deadlines. What We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone who combines strong analytical ability with exceptional attention to detail and sound independent judgment. You don't need to have spent your entire career in wealth management, and we're intentionally open to someone who still has meaningful room to grow. What matters is having the foundational knowledge, curiosity, judgment, and drive to develop into an exceptional financial planning professional.Qualifications· Experience in wealth management, financial planning, investments, insurance, banking, or a related financial services environment.· Wealth management or investment experience strongly preferred.· Experience supporting high-net-worth clients and/or complex financial situations is highly valued.· Working knowledge of investments, asset allocation, financial planning concepts, and portfolio analysis.· Exposure to insurance products and planning strategies is beneficial.· Experience preparing financial plans, investment proposals, financial analyses, or advisor/client review materials.· Experience and knowledge of employer equity plans (RSU, ESPP, ISO, NSO).· Series 6 and/or Series 7 licensing preferred; strong candidates without current licensing may be considered with the expectation that appropriate licensing is pursued.· CFP designation or progress toward the CFP is a plus.· Previous Northwestern Mutual experience is a significant advantage, particularly familiarity with PX and Northwestern Mutual products, systems, and planning processes.· Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.· Comfort using AI and emerging technology to support analysis, development, and quality control of work. The Attributes That Matter MostIndependent Judgment: You can review financial information, think critically, and form a point of view. You don't simply complete a task - you consider whether the analysis, recommendation, or proposal actually makes sense.Exceptional Attention to Detail: Accuracy matters. Names, numbers, assumptions, calculations, recommendations, and client-specific information need to be correct. Templates and technology are tools, not substitutes for careful review.Intellectual Curiosity: You want to understand the "why" behind the work. You actively seek opportunities to learn, develop new skills, expand your financial knowledge, and take advantage of professional development opportunities.Ownership: This is a lean, high-performing organization without multiple layers of management. Successful team members are comfortable taking responsibility for their work and moving priorities forward without constant supervision.Growth Mindset: You're interested in building a career, expanding your expertise, and taking on increasing responsibility as the firm continues to grow.Professional Stability: The firm values individuals who are thoughtful about their career decisions and have demonstrated commitment and meaningful tenure within previous organizations.Compensation & Benefits· Competitive Base salary· Individual performance bonus: target of approximately 10% annually, typically paid quarterly at approximately 2.5% of salary per quarter based on performance.· Firm/team bonus: historically approximately 8-10% annually based on firm profitability.· Combined variable compensation can bring total annual incentive opportunity to approximately 18-20% of base salary.· Medical, dental, and long-term disability premiums currently 100% employer-paid, including eligible dependents.· 18 Days of PTO· Two personal holidays.· Company holidays aligned with the NASDAQ holiday calendar.· Retirement plan & employer match contributions· Professional development and educational support.Work EnvironmentThe firm has an office in Massachusetts, and candidates are encouraged to spend time with the team in person. However, location is not an absolute requirement.Interview ProcessCandidates can expect a thoughtful, practical interview process designed to evaluate both technical ability and approach to problem-solving. Following an initial interview, selected candidates will complete a financial-planning case exercise using a realistic client scenario and financial data. The exercise is intended to understand how candidates analyze information, form recommendations, organize their work, and explain their thought process - not simply whether they arrive at one predetermined answer. Finalists will meet with senior firm leadership. If you are interested, please apply and email your resume to Carey@theRevelSearch.com
