Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob PurposeThe job holder is responsible for managing financial control function of the Branch to ensure proper controls are in place. Ensuring compliance of financial & regulatory reporting requirements of the Branch in accordance with IFRS and other regulations and standards set by the Central bank of UAE (CBUAE) and Bank’s internal policies and procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsuring that the financial control framework of the Bank is implemented properly in the Branch. Ensuring that the reporting system of Branch always complies the regulatory requirements. Ensuring financial reporting & regulatory reporting are in accordance with IFRS and CB Prudential Regulations, Basel Compliance. Adhere to CB-UAE guideline & regulations. Reviewing of periodic financial statements of the Branch as per IFRS and other regulatory requirements and providing financial data to External Auditors for review. Re-alignment of bookings in the system to ensure that reporting at divisional level is possible at UAE. This includes, but is not limited to, core baking deals, staff expenses, depreciation, and other items Adhere to the MIS Function Policies, processes, and procedures of NBB Adherence to the Compliance Framework (including but not limited to AML) Advisory role by analysing variances vs budget and prior year and reporting that same monthly (at a minimum) to the branch CEO and to HO. Areas of strength and weaknesses must be highlighted. Eliminate key man risk by ensuring that processes are officially documented and approved, and that key knowledge is transferred to other finance team membersEnsuring MIS reports including ALCO and other management Dashboards are published periodically. Providing management with performance reports and periodic net profit forecasts. Performing monthly closing activities including consolidation of financial results. Keeping track of all payments and expenditures, including purchase orders, invoices, and staff reimbursements. Reviewing and making sure that the UAE firms' quarterly VAT filings are submitted. Keeping track of and ensuring the clearance of the outstanding balances in the suspense and nostro accounts. Close coordination with internal and external auditors to ensure that they have appropriate access to information and people within the organization. Liaising with other departments of the Bank/Branch including Risk, HR Compliance etc. to consolidate data for regulatory submissions. Keeping history of all submitted returns for CBUAE inspections and other audits.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or in any other subject or equivalent is required.Minimum 3-4 years of practical experience in a bank or same or similar function.
