At EFS Facilities Services, we are looking for a technically strong and experienced Fire Protection Systems Engineer to support the delivery of fire and life safety systems across construction, fit-out, and project-based environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in fire protection system installation, testing, commissioning, inspection, and project execution, with sound knowledge of UAE Fire & Life Safety requirements, Civil Defense approvals, and NFPA standards.Role OverviewThe Fire Protection Systems Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the technical execution, installation, inspection, testing, commissioning, and compliance of fire protection systems across project sites. The role requires strong knowledge of fire protection systems and their interfaces with MEP services, along with the ability to review technical drawings, hydraulic calculations, coordinate with project teams, and ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved designs, UAE regulations, Civil Defense requirements, NFPA standards, and project specifications.The position requires a project-oriented professional with strong site execution experience, team management capabilities, and the ability to coordinate effectively with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee the installation, execution, testing, commissioning, inspection, and maintenance of fire protection systems across construction and fit-out projects.Manage and coordinate fire protection works in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, authority requirements, and applicable standards.Ensure proper installation and performance of fire pumps, sprinkler systems, standpipes, fire hose reels, hydrants, fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems, and associated fire protection equipment.Coordinate fire protection systems with other MEP, civil, architectural, and building services interfaces to ensure seamless project execution.Review, interpret, and coordinate IFC drawings, shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, schematic diagrams, riser diagrams, equipment layouts, and technical details.Verify site installations against approved drawings, specifications, and applicable fire and life safety requirements.Conduct and coordinate testing, commissioning, inspection, troubleshooting, and compliance verification of fire protection systems.Identify technical issues, installation deficiencies, and non-conformities and ensure timely corrective actions.Coordinate with consultants, clients, Civil Defense authorities, contractors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders as required.Support the preparation and submission of technical documentation, inspection requests, testing and commissioning records, and authority approval documentation.Ensure all fire protection works comply with UAE Fire & Life Safety requirements, Civil Defense requirements, NFPA standards, and project-specific regulations.Monitor project progress and ensure fire protection activities are completed within the required schedule and quality standards.Supervise and coordinate engineers, supervisors, technicians, and subcontractors, providing technical guidance and ensuring effective resource utilization.What We’re Looking ForProven experience as a Fire Protection Engineer, preferably within a project-based / construction environment.Hands-on experience in construction-based fire protection installation projects as well as fit-out installation works.Strong practical knowledge of fire protection systems, including:Fire PumpsSprinkler SystemsStandpipe SystemsFire Hose ReelsFire requirements.Good understanding of UAE Fire and Life Safety Code provisions and local authority approval processes.Strong working knowledge of relevant NFPA standards, particularly:NFPA 13 – Sprinkler SystemsNFPA 14 – Standpipe and Hose SystemsNFPA 20 – Stationary Fire PumpsNFPA 22 – Water TanksNFPA 24 – Private Fire Service MainsNFPA 25 – Inspection, Testing & MaintenanceNFPA 72 – National Fire Alarm and Signaling CodeNFPA 101 – Life Safety CodeOther NFPA standards applicable to the projectAbility to read, interpret, review, and coordinate fire protection drawings and technical documentation.Experience reviewing hydraulic calculations, riser diagrams, schematic drawings, equipment layouts, shop drawings, and IFC drawings.Strong site execution and inspection experience, including installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and compliance verification.Ability to coordinate fire protection works with MEP, civil, architectural, and other multidisciplinary project teams.Strong team management and coordination skills, with experience supervising engineers, supervisors, technicians, and subcontractors.Educational QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline from a recognized university.Relevant professional certifications in Fire Protection,
