Firmware Engineer

Job Title: Firmware EngineerLocation: TX, AustinType: 12+ Months Contract Required Skills:Hands-on debugging experience of CPU/APU/GPU related FW and SW components. Experience putting PC systems together, installing normal PC components including memory, storage, processors and other devices.Excellent coding/debugging skills in C and Python, Proficient in ACPI/ASL and Assembly Language.Deep understanding of UEFI (including EDK). Coreboot familiarity optional and nice to have.Experience with creating and promoting Firmware capsules for LVFSWell versed with Client PC (x86) system design and validation; testing tools and environments, defect tracking and source code version control (Git).General familiarity with computer architecture concepts and silicon features; Microsoft Operating Systems, excellent skills in Linux operating systems, virtualization software (KVM, Xen, et al.), Secure Boot, PSPPlus Understanding and experience with different frameworks and subsystems in BIOS and Linux responsible to control power, performance, and thermalBenchmarking suites used to determine platform capabilities; managing Linux-based devices in commercial environments;Working with platform firmware and services (UEFI/ACPI), Linux kernel API, and other interfaces used by Linux systems.
