Apply & track with Apply EdgeAbout the RoleThis role keeps our imported goods moving on the first mile, from the supplier overseas all the way to our warehouse in India. A large part of what we sell is imported, so smooth, on-time inbound shipments are what keep us in stock and our costs in check. You'll own the first-mile and inbound execution: coordinating shipments, paperwork and clearance so goods arrive on time and without surprise costs.This is a hands-on, detail-heavy role. You'll work closely with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders and customs agents (CHAs), track every shipment from origin to receipt, keep documentation clean, and flag delays early. It suits someone dependable and organised who knows the inbound leg well and wants to grow into owning imports end to end.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn first-mile execution: track each shipment from supplier dispatch at origin through to goods-receipt across sea and air freight.Support customs clearance: work with CHAs and freight forwarders to get shipments cleared on time and avoid demurrage and delays.Manage documentation: keep invoices, packing lists, BOE, HS codes and certifications accurate and complete.Track and update: maintain clear status and ETA for every shipment, and keep Planning, Sourcing and the warehouse informed.Flag delays early: monitor shipment timelines and raise issues before they become stock-outs.Coordinate with partners: be the day-to-day point of contact with freight forwarders, CHAs and shipping lines at origin and destination.Help control cost: support landed-cost tracking and look for ways to reduce freight cost and transit time.Support compliance: follow import regulations and documentation requirements and keep records in order.What We're Looking For2 to 5 years in imports, first-mile/inbound logistics, freight forwarding, EXIM operations or supply chain coordination, ideally in retail, D2C, e-commerce or an import/trading business.Working knowledge of inbound processes: sea/air freight, customs clearance, CHA coordination, incoterms, HS codes, duties and BOE.Exposure to importing from China or SE Asia is a strong plus.Highly organised and detail-oriented, able to track many shipments and documents without errors.Reliable follow-through and comfort coordinating with overseas suppliers and partners.Confident on Excel/Sheets and clear over email.Eager to learn and grow into owning imports end to end.
