Apply & track with Apply EdgeHelp drive elite performance within a professional football environment in Saudi Arabia.We are supporting a professional football club in Saudi Arabia with the appointment of a Sports Scientist to join its Men’s First Team performance department.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sports science practitioner to work within an elite football environment, using data, testing and applied sports science to help optimise player performance, manage training load, enhance recovery and support injury prevention.Reporting to the Head of Performance, you will work closely with coaches, medical and performance staff to translate complex physical and physiological data into clear, actionable insights that inform day-to-day decision-making around training and player readiness.The impact you’ll makeMonitor and optimise player performance, collecting, analysing and interpreting GPS, heart-rate and biometric data to understand training load, fatigue, recovery and physical readiness.Turn data into practical insight, providing coaches and performance staff with clear reporting that supports evidence-based decisions around training and match preparation.Support individual physical development, helping to develop conditioning programmes based on individual player needs, positional demands and training loads.Contribute across the season, supporting pre-season, in-season and recovery programmes to optimise aerobic and anaerobic fitness and ensure players are physically prepared for competition.Enhance player recovery, monitoring markers including sleep, soreness and readiness and helping to individualise recovery strategies around the demands placed on each player.Support injury prevention, conducting physical testing, movement screening and assessments to identify potential risk factors and areas for physical development.Work collaboratively across the performance and medical departments, contributing to integrated performance plans and supporting rehabilitation and return-to-play decision-making through objective physiological data.Bring innovation into the performance environment, keeping up to date with developments in sports science, player monitoring, wearable technology and emerging performance methodologies.What’s in it for you?The opportunity to work full-time within a Men’s First Team environment at a professional football club in Saudi Arabia.A competitive international package, including a tax-free salary, housing allowance, car allowance and additional benefits.A highly applied role where your work and insights can directly influence training, recovery, player availability and matchday performance.The chance to work alongside experienced practitioners across performance, strength & conditioning, medical and coaching departments.Exposure to an ambitious and evolving football environment, with the opportunity to introduce contemporary sports science practices and technology.The opportunity to work closely with elite-level players and contribute across the entire performance cycle, from physical preparation and monitoring through to rehabilitation and return to play.An international career opportunity within one of the fastest-developing football markets globally.Your skills and experienceWe are looking for someone who combines strong scientific knowledge with the ability to apply it effectively within the realities of a First Team football environment.You will ideally bring:A Master’s degree in Sports Science, Physiology or a related discipline.Proven sports science or physiology experience, ideally within professional football, elite sport or with high-performance athletes.Strong expertise in athlete monitoring, testing, screening and physical assessment.Experience working with GPS, heart-rate, biometric and other player-monitoring data.Experience designing and implementing programmes to optimise physical performance and matchday readiness.A strong understanding of training load, physical preparation, fatigue management and recovery.Knowledge of the physical demands of football and how these translate across both gym and pitch-based environments.Experience managing and interpreting complex datasets, with the ability to turn information into practical recommendations for coaches and fellow practitioners.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, alongside excellent attention to detail.The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary First Team environment.A commitment to continued professional development and evidence-based practice.The successful candidate will be expected to travel with the First Team as required and operate flexibly around the demands of a professional football schedule.If you’re an ambitious Sports Scientist looking to apply your expertise within an elite First Team environment and play a hands-on role in driving player performance, readiness and availability, click Apply to begin your application.
