We are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to lead our fleet operations from acquisition through lifecycle management. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows trucks from the chassis up - a professional who has specified, ordered, and managed specialty-built and vocational vehicles, and who can build the systems, vendor relationships, and team needed to scale our fleet alongside our business.What You'll DoFleet Strategy & GrowthOwn the full fleet lifecycle: specification, acquisition, upfitting, deployment, maintenance, remarketing, and replacement planning across Class 1–8 vehiclesDevelop and execute a scalable fleet growth plan aligned with company expansion, including capital planning, lease-vs-buy analysis, and total cost of ownership (TCO) modelingBuild standardized vehicle specs and upfit packages that balance operational needs, cost, and lead timesOEM Chassis & UpfittingServe as the in-house expert on OEM chassis (Ford, GM, RAM, Freightliner, International, Isuzu, Hino, Peterbilt, Kenworth, etc.), including cab configurations, GVWR/GCWR ratings, wheelbases, PTO provisions, and factory optionsManage the complete upfit process: writing specs, selecting body builders and upfitters, reviewing engineering drawings, managing pool/ship-thru programs, and ensuring compliance with FMVSS and body builder guidelinesOversee quality control on specialty-built trucks — service bodies, flatbeds, cranes, dumps, tankers, box trucks, and other vocational configurations — from PO to final acceptanceFleet Management Company (FMC) PartnershipManage the day-to-day relationship with our fleet management provider (e.g., Holman, Element, Wheels, Mike Albert), including ordering, licensing/titling, telematics, fuel programs, maintenance management, and remarketingAudit FMC billing, negotiate program terms, and hold partners accountable to SLAs and cost targetsLeverage FMC data and reporting to drive downtime reduction, maintenance cost control, and utilization improvementsOperations & ComplianceEnsure DOT/FMCSA compliance across the fleet, including registrations, IFTA/IRP where applicable, DVIRs, preventive maintenance schedules, and driver qualification supportManage and optimize our Geotab telematics platform to monitor utilization, safety, idling, engine diagnostics, and maintenance triggers across the fleetAdminister our Lytx video safety (camera) program, including event review workflows, driver coaching processes, exoneration support, and safety scorecard reportingEstablish preventive maintenance programs and vendor networks that maximize uptime across a geographically distributed fleetLeadership & Team BuildingLead, develop, and grow a small fleet team (coordinators, technicians, and/or administrators), building the structure and processes needed to support a rapidly scaling operationCreate SOPs, KPIs, and reporting dashboards that give leadership clear visibility into fleet cost, availability, and performancePartner cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Safety, and field leadership to align fleet capacity with business demandWhat You'll BringRequired8+ years of progressive fleet management experience, including 3+ years in a leadership roleDeep, demonstrated knowledge of OEM chassis and the truck upfitting process, including working directly with body companies and upfitters on specialty-built vehiclesA track record of specifying and managing specialty/vocational truck builds (service bodies, cranes, dumps, flatbeds, box trucks, or similar)Direct experience working with a fleet management company such as Holman, Element, Wheels, or equivalent — including ordering, maintenance management, and remarketing programsExperience managing mixed fleets spanning light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks (Class 1–8)Proven ability to manage and develop a small staff while building scalable processesStrong command of fleet TCO analysis, capital budgeting, and lifecycle planningHands-on experience with Geotab telematics (or comparable platform with ability to quickly master Geotab)Experience managing a video safety/camera program such as Lytx, including event review and driver coachingWorking knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations applicable to commercial fleetsBased in or willing to relocate to the Dallas–Fort Worth areaPreferredExperience scaling a fleet during a period of rapid company growthCAFM, CAFS, or NAFA certification (or equivalent)Geotab certification or advanced experience with MyGeotab rules, reports, and add-insExperience with EV/alternative fuel evaluation for commercial applicationsBachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)What Success Looks LikeFirst 90 days: A full audit of the current fleet, FMC relationship, and upfit pipeline;
