Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob Overview: The Fleet Manager will be responsible for the overall management and optimization of our oil tanker fleet. This role requires a strong understanding of maritime operations, safety regulations, and logistical coordination. The Fleet Manager will work closely with various departments, including operations, maintenance, and safety, to ensure that the fleet operates efficiently and meets all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the oil tanker fleet, including scheduling, route planning, and cargo management. Ensure optimal utilization of vessels to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.Maintenance Oversight: Coordinate regular maintenance and repair activities for the fleet, working with technical teams and service providers. Ensure that all vessels comply with international and local safety and environmental regulations.Compliance: Ensure that all vessels adhere to international maritime regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and implement necessary changes to fleet operations.Safety Management: Develop and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safe operation of vessels. Conduct regular safety drills and inspections. Address and resolve any safety issues promptly.Performance Monitoring: Monitor fleet performance metrics, including fuel efficiency, operational costs, and vessel uptime. Analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.Budget Management: Prepare and manage the budget for fleet operations, including maintenance, fuel, and personnel costs. Track expenditures and provide regular financial reports.Team Leadership: Supervise and support a team of maritime professionals, including vessel crews and shore-based staff. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, and internal departments. Provide regular updates on fleet performance and operational issues.Crisis Management: Respond to emergencies and unexpected situations, including accidents, mechanical failures, and regulatory inspections. Develop and implement contingency plans as needed.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Logistics, or a related field. Advanced certifications or degrees are a plus.Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in fleet management, with a strong background in managing oil tankers or similar maritime vessels. Experience in the Shanghai maritime industry is preferred.Skills:In-depth knowledge of maritime regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent problem-solving abilities and crisis management skills.Proficiency in fleet management software and data analysis tools.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Languages: Fluent in English and Mandarin. Additional languages are a plus.
