The company offers opportunities to contribute directly to meaningful recovery efforts and long-term resilience.ROLE DESCRIPTIONSDR is seeking an experienced and highly organized Fleet Manager to oversee all fleet operations for our Utility Vegetation Management Division. This role is responsible for ensuring SDR’s fleet remains fully compliant, operationally efficient, and audit-ready while supporting field teams across multiple projects and service areas. The Fleet Manager will manage vehicle lifecycle operations, regulatory compliance, maintenance scheduling, driver qualification programs, insurance coordination, and reporting systems for a diverse fleet that supports utility vegetation management, disaster response, and field service operations.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Regulatory Compliance & LicensingEnsure full compliance with all FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and state-specific transportation regulations.Manage driver qualification files, CDL requirements, medical certifications, and MVR monitoring.Coordinate DOT inspections and annual vehicle inspections.Oversee IFTA filings, fuel tax reporting, apportioned registrations, and state registration renewals.Maintain compliance documentation for audits, insurance carriers, and regulatory agencies.Serve as primary point of contact for regulatory audits and compliance reviews.Fleet Maintenance & Asset ManagementDevelop and oversee preventive maintenance schedules for all fleet vehicles and specialized equipment.Coordinate inspections, repairs, service intervals, and vendor relationships.Monitor maintenance costs, downtime, and repair trends to improve operational efficiency.Track fleet assets, vehicle assignments, replacements, disposals, and lifecycle costs.Maintain accurate records for vehicle history, warranties, inspections, and service logs.Insurance & Risk ManagementManage fleet insurance policies, renewals, claims coordination, and coverage verification.Support insurance audits and ensure proper documentation for claims and renewals.Reporting & Operational OversightDistribute vehicle utilization reports, mileage tracking reports, fuel consumption reports, and cost analysis.Monitor fleet performance metrics and identify opportunities for optimization.Analyze vehicle usage to support purchasing, replacement, and operational planning.Maintain fleet software systems, telematics platforms, and compliance databases.Collaborate with division leadership to align fleet capacity with operational demands.QUALIFICATINSMinimum 3 years of fleet management experience, preferably in utility vegetation management, construction, transportation, or disaster response industries.Strong working knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, IFTA, CDL, and fleet regulatory requirements.Experience managing multi-state fleets, registrations, and compliance programs.Familiarity with fleet management software, GPS/telematics systems, and maintenance tracking platforms.Proven experience with insurance claims, regulatory audits, and compliance reporting.Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, reporting tools, and database management.Preferred QualificationsCertified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) or similar certification preferred.Experience in utility services, emergency response, or vegetation management operations.Experience with Samsara fleet tracking software.KEY COMPETENCIESRegulatory expertiseOperational efficiencyData analysis and reportingVendor managementLeadership and accountabilityAttention to detailMulti-state fleet coordinationBENEFITSCompetitive salaryHealth, dental, and vision insurancePaid time offRetirement plan optionsProfessional development opportunitiesOpportunity to support critical infrastructure and disaster recovery operationsSDR is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
