Apply & track with Apply EdgeRole DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled, innovative, and detail-oriented Flight Simulation Engineer to design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain advanced flight simulation systems used for pilot training, aircraft development, research, and mission planning. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing high-fidelity simulation models, integrating hardware and software components, validating simulation accuracy, and supporting certification and training requirements. This role works closely with aerospace engineers, software developers, avionics specialists, pilots, instructors, and training organizations to deliver reliable and realistic simulation environments.Key responsibilities include designing, developing, configuring, and maintaining flight simulation systems for fixed-wing aircraft, rotary-wing aircraft, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), and next-generation aerospace platforms; developing mathematical models for aircraft dynamics, aerodynamics, propulsion systems, flight controls, navigation, weather effects, and aircraft performance to achieve high-fidelity simulation; integrating avionics, cockpit systems, visual display systems, motion platforms, instructor operating stations, communication systems, and simulation hardware into complete training environments; developing and validating software components that support real-time simulation, aircraft systems modeling, mission scenarios, and pilot training exercises; performing system integration, calibration, verification, validation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization to ensure simulation accuracy and operational reliability; collaborating with pilots, instructors, aerospace engineers, software engineers, human factors specialists, and customers to define simulation requirements and implement enhancements; supporting simulator certification, regulatory compliance, quality assurance activities, and acceptance testing according to applicable aviation and industry standards; analyzing flight test data and aircraft performance information to continuously improve simulation fidelity and model accuracy; preparing technical documentation, engineering reports, validation procedures, user manuals, system specifications, and configuration management records; supporting installation, commissioning, upgrades, maintenance, and lifecycle management of simulation systems; utilizing Computer-Aided Design (CAD), digital engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital twins, and data analytics to improve simulation performance, predictive maintenance, and operational efficiency; contributing to research and development initiatives involving virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), autonomous flight simulation, and advanced training technologies; and staying informed about advancements in aerospace engineering, flight simulation technologies, aviation regulations, human-machine interaction, and global industry best practices.The Flight Simulation Engineer is expected to combine strong aerospace engineering knowledge with software, systems integration, and analytical expertise to deliver realistic and reliable flight simulation solutions. Success in this role requires excellent problem-solving skills, technical precision, collaboration, communication, adaptability, and a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aviation Technology, or a related discipline.Strong understanding of aircraft dynamics, aerodynamics, flight mechanics, flight control systems, propulsion systems, avionics, navigation, and aerospace engineering principles.Proficiency in simulation and engineering software such as MATLAB, Simulink, C++, Python, LabVIEW, Unreal Engine, Unity, FlightGear, X-Plane SDK, Prepar3D SDK, ANSYS, CATIA, Siemens NX, or equivalent modeling and simulation platforms.Familiarity with real-time simulation architectures, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), software-in-the-loop (SIL), digital twins, embedded systems, and distributed simulation technologies.Knowledge of Flight Management Systems (FMS), Electronic Flight Bags (EFB), avionics integration, communication protocols, data acquisition systems, and aircraft instrumentation.Understanding of aviation regulations, International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) requirements, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidance, European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regulations, and flight simulator qualification standards.Knowledge of computer graphics, visual systems, motion cueing, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), and human factors engineering is advantageous.Strong analytical, mathematical, troubleshooting, and systems engineering skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex simulation issues.Excellent written, verbal, technical documentation, and presentation skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering and aviation teams.Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple technical projects simultaneously.High level of professionalism, attention to detail, innovation, adaptability, and commitment to engineering quality and aviation safety.Knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, autonomous systems, cloud-based simulation, digital engineering, and advanced pilot training technologies is highly desirable.Professional certifications in systems engineering, software engineering, simulation technologies, or aviation-related disciplines are considered advantageous but are not mandatory.Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying informed about advances in aerospace engineering, flight simulation, digital transformation, aviation technology, autonomous flight systems, and international engineering best practices.
