We are looking for candidates who are already based in the Netherlands and within reasonable commuting distance of Amsterdam.You must already have the right to work in the Netherlands. We do not provide visa sponsorship or relocation support.ABOUT CUCINA CASALINGAFor more than 25 years, Cucina Casalinga has been part of Amsterdam's restaurant scene, offering genuine Italian hospitality, seasonal Italian cooking and carefully selected wines.We are an independent restaurant in Amsterdam Zuid with a strong identity and a loyal local clientele.We are now looking for an experienced FOH & Restaurant Manager who wants to take responsibility for the daily operation of the restaurant and actively contribute to its next chapter.We are not looking for someone who only manages the floor. We are looking for someone who sees the bigger picture, takes initiative and thinks like both a host and an entrepreneur.YOUR ROLEAs FOH & Restaurant Manager, you are a key person connecting our guests, floor, kitchen and management.You keep a 180° view of the restaurant and see what needs to be done without always waiting to be asked. During service you lead by example, and during quieter moments you use your time to organise, improve or help wherever needed.Your responsibilities include:

• Managing the daily front-of-house operation and maintaining a high standard of service.
• Creating a warm, personal and professional guest experience.
• Managing telephone and online reservations accurately and professionally.
• Building relationships with regular guests, collecting feedback and dealing with complaints calmly and constructively.
• Coordinating group dinners, private dining and catering requests together with the kitchen and management.
• Working with our CRM for customer relations, follow-ups and B2B development.
• Proactively approaching companies and potential clients and helping Cucina Casalinga develop new business.
• Thinking commercially and recognising opportunities to increase revenue, while always keeping hospitality as the starting point.
• Being flexible with guests and looking at the long-term relationship. Sometimes a guest who comes in only for a plate of pasta today can become a regular customer tomorrow.
• Taking initiative in developing and organising events at Cucina Casalinga, such as wine dinners, regional Italian evenings, food & wine events and Italian culinary or cultural themes.
• Bringing your own ideas and motivating the team, including the kitchen, to keep developing and trying new things.
• Helping turn ideas into actual events and contributing to our annual event calendar.
• Independently working with our Until POS system, including programming dishes and products, updating menus and keeping the system organised and practical for both FOH and kitchen.
• Making sure the restaurant is always clean, organised and welcoming — tables, glassware, toilets, Chef's Table and the outside presentation of the restaurant.
• Taking responsibility for the presentation and condition of our menus, wine lists and other sales tools, including dessert, after-dinner and drinks menus.
• Helping develop and maintain menu layouts and printed materials so that they are always professional and consistent with the image of Cucina Casalinga.
• Developing your knowledge of Italian food and wine, including grapes, regions, wine styles and food & wine pairing, and being able to explain wines to guests in a simple and convincing way.
• Maintaining a high standard of coffee service, including proper espresso and cappuccino.
• Supporting basic personnel administration, including keeping contracts and personnel documents organised and up to date.
• Helping colleagues whenever needed. We are a small restaurant, so we expect an all-round mentality: if something needs doing, you see it and act.WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?We are looking for someone with experience in restaurant or hospitality management who is a natural host and genuinely enjoys contact with guests.You are proactive, organised and solution-oriented. You take responsibility without needing to be told every step.You have commercial feeling and are interested in developing new business as well as running a good service.You can lead and motivate a small team and you are comfortable bringing your own ideas and turning them into reality.A genuine interest in Italian food, wine and hospitality is important to us.Experience with POS and CRM systems is an advantage.Good English is required. Dutch is a strong advantage and Italian is a plus.Above all, we are looking for involvement and ownership: someone who looks at the restaurant with a 180° view and feels responsible for the whole operation, not only for their own list of tasks.WHAT WE OFFER
