Airways Hotel & Residences provides a distinctive environment for hospitality professionals seeking to deliver premium guest experiences.Role Description The Food and Beverage Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at Airways Hotel & Residences in Port Moresby. This role oversees all food and beverage operations, including restaurants, bars, lounges, and event catering, ensuring high standards of service, product quality, and guest satisfaction. Daily responsibilities include planning menus with culinary leadership, monitoring service delivery, managing inventory and supplier relationships, and maintaining compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations. The manager leads, trains, and schedules food and beverage staff, supports performance management, and fosters a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. The role also involves training, budgeting, cost control, and revenue optimization, as well as handling guest feedback and collaborating with other departments to support special events and overall hotel objectives.QualificationsStrong food service and food & beverage management skills, with experience overseeing restaurant and bar operations.Demonstrated customer service capabilities, with a focus on creating high-quality guest experiences and managing feedback effectively.Experience in staff training and development, including onboarding, coaching, and performance support for diverse teams.Competence in budgeting, cost control, and basic financial analysis for food and beverage operations.Previous supervisory or managerial experience in hotels, resorts, or upscale dining establishments.Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and compliance with local regulatory requirements.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.Relevant hospitality, hotel management, or culinary qualification or equivalent professional experience.
