Employment Type: Full-timeCompensation: $71,000–$90,000 annuallyRelocation Assistance: Not availableVisa Sponsorship: Not availableAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Food Service Operations Manager to lead high-volume, on-site dining operations in Baltimore.This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for day-to-day foodservice operations, people management, service quality, food safety, operational performance, financial outcomes, and client satisfaction.The ideal candidate will bring strong experience managing foodservice teams within a high-volume environment such as higher education, healthcare, corporate dining, contract foodservice, hospitality, catering, or a comparable institutional setting.Key ResponsibilitiesLead day-to-day foodservice and dining operations while maintaining high standards of service, quality, safety, and guest experience.Manage, coach, train, and develop frontline employees and supervisors.Support staffing decisions, performance management, scheduling, employee development, and overall team effectiveness.Ensure compliance with HACCP requirements, sanitation standards, food-safety procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.Drive operational performance across food quality, labor utilization, service delivery, safety, and productivity.Manage key financial and operational metrics, including labor, food cost, budgets, forecasts, and performance targets.Develop and execute operational plans aligned with client objectives and contractual commitments.Build strong relationships with clients, campus stakeholders, guests, and internal partners.Identify opportunities to improve service quality, operational efficiency, sustainability, culinary offerings, and guest satisfaction.Support continuous improvement initiatives across the overall dining operation.Ensure resources, staffing, and operating priorities are effectively aligned with business requirements.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.Minimum 3 years of foodservice, dining, hospitality, or related operational experience.Minimum 3 years of formal management or people-leadership experience.Demonstrated experience leading, training, and developing on-site foodservice teams.Experience working in a high-volume foodservice or dining environment.Working knowledge of HACCP, food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance.Experience managing operational performance, service quality, staffing, and employee productivity.Strong client-service and stakeholder-management capabilities.Ability to work fully on-site in Baltimore, MD.Preferred BackgroundExperience within one or more of the following environments is highly relevant:Higher education diningHealthcare foodserviceCorporate diningContract foodserviceInstitutional diningLarge hospitality operationsCatering or multi-outlet foodservice environmentsPrior higher-education experience is helpful but is not required for candidates with strong comparable foodservice operations experience.What Success Looks LikeSuccessful candidates will have managed meaningful operational complexity, such as sizeable teams, high guest or meal volumes, multiple dining outlets, client-facing responsibilities, financial accountability, or large-scale foodservice operations.You should be comfortable balancing people leadership, operational execution, food safety, financial performance, and customer experience in a fast-moving environment.Compensation & BenefitsThe anticipated salary range for this position is $71,000–$90,000, depending on experience, education, skills, and overall qualifications.Benefits may include:Medical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with company matchingPaid time offCompany holidaysTuition reimbursementCareer development and advancement opportunitiesImportant RequirementsThis position is 100% on-site in Baltimore, Maryland.Candidates must be able to work at the location without employer-paid relocation assistance.Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
