Takeout & Food Service Specialist – Pukka Desi📍 Location: 1470 Centre St, Unit 8-9, Thornhill, ON L4J 3N1👥 Openings: 2🕒 Type: Full-time / Part-timeAbout the RolePukka Desi is looking for two reliable, energetic team members dedicated specifically to our takeout counter.We’re looking for people with experience in a fast-paced restaurant, fast-food, takeout, café, or similar food-service environment who understand the importance of speed, accuracy, cleanliness, presentation, and great customer service.Your main responsibility will be handling Pukka Desi’s takeout operations, including Uber Eats, DoorDash, SkipTheDishes, pickup orders, and walk-in customers.During slower periods, you’ll also have the opportunity to help create social-media content, test new menu ideas, and assist with recipe development as Pukka Desi grows.Main Responsibilities• Prepare, assemble, package, and hand off orders quickly and accurately• Manage Uber Eats, DoorDash, SkipTheDishes, pickup, and walk-in orders• Prepare menu items according to Pukka Desi recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards• Keep the takeout station clean, organized, stocked, and ready for service• Check every order for accuracy before handing it to a customer or delivery driver• Provide friendly customer service, answer menu questions, and recommend or upsell items when appropriate• Follow food-safety, sanitation, and cleaning procedures• Complete prep work and help keep operations running smoothly during busy periods• During slower periods, help create social-media content, shoot food photos/videos, test new menu ideas, and assist with recipe development• Share customer feedback and ideas that could improve our menu, service, or takeout operationsWhat We’re Looking For• Previous experience in fast food, takeout, restaurants, cafés, or a similar food-service environment is strongly preferred• Able to work quickly, stay organized, and handle multiple orders at once• Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and focused on great customer service• Comfortable following recipes, food-safety procedures, and presentation standards• Experience with delivery apps or restaurant POS systems is an asset• Interest in food, social media, or menu development is a plusThe Type of Person We’re Looking ForThis position is best suited for someone who enjoys the energy of a busy takeout environment and takes pride in getting orders out fast, accurately, and looking great.We’re not looking for someone who simply waits for the next order.
