The school community values equity, inclusion, and a commitment to continuous improvement.Role Description: We have an immediate opening for two positions: The Foreign Language Teacher (Spanish) & Fifth Grade ELA. These full-time, on-site roles are based in Mount Vernon, NY, and involve planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs. The teacher will design and implement unit and lesson plans, integrate literacy and language acquisition strategies, and provide timely feedback to students. Responsibilities include maintaining a positive, structured classroom environment, collaborating with colleagues and families, and participating in professional development, grade-level meetings, and school-wide initiatives. The teacher will also contribute to school culture by supporting extracurricular activities, events, and interventions that promote student growth and achievement.QualificationsDemonstrated proficiency and experience in the subject (ELA or Spanish).Strong Lesson Planning skills, including designing standards-aligned, student-centered lessons and assessments.Excellent Communication skills for interacting effectively with students, families, and colleagues, both verbally and in writing.Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.Valid teaching certification or eligibility for certification in New York State for relevant subject areas.Experience teaching upper elementary or middle school students, preferably in urban or charter school settings.Ability to use instructional technology and data to inform teaching practices and support student learning.Commitment to equity, inclusion, and continuous professional growth.
