It delivers authoritative reporting, insightful analysis and balanced perspectives on the issues shaping the region and the world.Role SummaryThe Foreign Multimedia Producer is responsible for the production of daily and long-term foreign affairs video content, as well as overseeing other visual elements when needed. The role requires close collaboration with editors, writers, correspondents, and the social and multimedia teams to ensure timely delivery, rapid turnaround when required, and the highest quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesProduce short- and long-form foreign affairs video content efficiently and accurately, ensuring the highest journalistic and technical standards.Manage and process incoming content from correspondents across the region.Film and produce daily quick-turnaround videos in the newsroom for breaking news, explainers and other editorial needs as required.Review footage from news agencies and produce edits as directed by section heads and senior editors.Ensure that the foreign affairs video content is tailored for social media platforms, optimized for engagement and platform-specific formats.Respond swiftly and effectively to breaking news, ensuring timely coverage.Support the integration of multimedia elements in editorial planning, contributing to The National’s evolving digital strategy.Consistently uphold the cultural, social, and moral values of the UAE, aligning all content with national policies and strategic directions. Safeguard the reputation of The National and its parent organization, IMI, through responsible and respectful content creation.Apply sound professional judgment and initiative to execute a variety of tasks, some of which may be complex, while adhering to established policies and editorial guidelines.Make decisions and provide recommendations that carry impact.QualificationsProficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and DSLR cameras.Experience with Video CMS platforms.Experience in script writing and editing for short and long videos.Strong willingness to learn and adopt new technologies.Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to high-quality multimedia production.Excellent collaboration and teamwork abilities.Self-motivated with the ability to work with others and manage tasks efficiently.Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic is an advantage.Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a similar role within a fast-paced or large media environment.Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Journalism, Multimedia Design, or a related field.
