It sells to some of the most demanding buyers in financial services, and its team combines senior finance practitioners with top-tier AI engineers.This is a confidential search managed exclusively by Search Chain Partners.The roleForward Deployed Engineers sit between the product and the client. You will work directly with banks and PE firms to deploy the platform, build custom agentic workflows on top of it, and turn what you learn in the field into product.This is a senior, hands-on engineering role with real commercial exposure. You will own technical outcomes at flagship accounts, working alongside deal teams, CTOs and heads of innovation at some of the world's leading financial institutions.Reports to: Head of Forward Deployed Engineering

Location: London, hybrid, with client travelType: Full-time, permanentKey responsibilitiesDeploy and buildLead technical deployments at bank and PE clients, from scoping through go-liveBuild production-grade agentic workflows, integrations and data pipelines on top of the core platformConnect the platform to client systems, including data rooms, CRMs, document stores and market data providersWrite clean, well-tested code in Python and TypeScriptWork with clientsPartner with deal teams, investment professionals and client engineering teams to understand their workflows in depthRun technical workshops, demos and pilots that move accounts from trial to enterprise contractHandle security, compliance and infrastructure requirements typical of regulated financial institutionsShape the productFeed field insight back to product and core engineering, and turn repeatable custom work into platform featuresEvaluate and improve LLM performance on real client tasks, including prompting, retrieval and evaluation frameworksAbout youThis role is for exceptional engineers only.

The bar is set by the calibre of the team and the clients it serves.Essential5+ years' software engineering experience at a tier 1 technology company, AI lab or high-performance finance firm. Examples include Palantir, Google DeepMind, OpenAI, Anthropic, Stripe, Databricks, Jane Street or top-quartile venture-backed scale-upsTop academic record: a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or similar from a leading university such as Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, ETH Zurich, EPFL, MIT, Stanford or equivalentStrong full-stack skills in Python and TypeScript, with production experience on cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP or Azure)Hands-on experience building with LLMs: RAG, agents, tool use and evaluationConfident in front of senior, demanding clients; able to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholdersHigh ownership and speed: you ship, and you take responsibility for the client outcomeA real bonusForward deployed, solutions engineering or client-facing engineering experience, ideally at Palantir or a similar modelDomain knowledge of investment banking, private equity or capital markets workflowsFounder or early-stage startup experienceA postgraduate degree, competitive programming record or notable open-source workWhat's on offerTop-of-market base salary plus meaningful equityWork on hard, high-stakes problems with the world's leading banks and PE firmsReal ownership from day one and a fast path to technical leadershipA team of exceptional engineers and finance practitioners at a pivotal stage of growthHow to applyThis role is managed exclusively by Search Chain Partners.
