Forward Deployed EngineerLocation: New York, NY or San Francisco, CAEmployment Type: Full-time, on-siteAbout the RoleWe are supporting high-growth AI startups looking for Forward Deployed Engineers to lead complex AI implementations for enterprise customers.Working across engineering, product and customer delivery, you will take ownership of deployments from the initial technical evaluation through implementation, adoption and expansion. This is a hands-on engineering role where you will build solutions, work directly with customer stakeholders and use real-world feedback to influence product development.ResponsibilitiesOwn enterprise AI deployments from initial evaluation through implementation and expansionWork directly with customers to understand their workflows, technical requirements and business challengesDesign and build custom AI applications, agent workflows, integrations and internal toolsDevelop technical demonstrations, proof-of-concept applications and evaluation frameworksIntegrate AI platforms with customer data, APIs and existing enterprise systemsTroubleshoot deployment issues and improve performance across customer environmentsCreate diagnostics and dashboards to measure performance and identify regressionsPartner with sales, product and engineering teams throughout the customer lifecycleTranslate customer feedback into product improvements and new platform capabilitiesBuild strong relationships with technical and business stakeholdersRequirements2–6 years of experience in software engineering, product engineering, applied AI, AI implementation or forward deployed engineeringStrong Python programming skills and experience deploying production softwareBackend or full-stack engineering experience, ideally within an enterprise-facing environmentComfortable working directly with customers and translating business problems into technical solutionsExperience with LLMs, AI agents, APIs, data pipelines or AI/ML systemsStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug, experiment and iterate quicklyFamiliarity with TypeScript, JavaScript, Streamlit or similar application development tools is beneficialExposure to AWS, GCP, Azure or enterprise integrations is advantageousExperience with agent frameworks, document AI, OCR, vision-language models or evaluation frameworks would be valuablePrevious experience in a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer or technical consulting role is beneficialComfortable taking ownership and working within a fast-moving, early-stage environmentAdditional InformationFull-time, on-site opportunities in New York and San FranciscoSome customer travel may be required depending on the opportunityCompetitive base salary and equity packageVisa sponsorship or transfers may be considered depending on the position
