NAWA is committed to independent research, stronger evidence, and better decision-making across the Saudi energy landscape.Role Description The Founding Contributor is a volunteer, hybrid role based in the Riyadh Region, with flexibility to work partly from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include contributing to energy decision cases, assisting with research and analysis on hydrogen, renewables, storage, and power systems, and helping develop structured evidence for key energy and infrastructure decisions. The role involves drafting and reviewing written materials, supporting quantitative and qualitative assessments, and collaborating on tools and frameworks that strengthen NAWA’s decision intelligence platform. The contributor will work closely with NAWA’s core team, propose ideas for new decision cases, and engage in public review and feedback processes to enhance transparency and rigor.Qualifications Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with interest in engineering, economics, or energy systems.Experience or academic exposure to energy markets, infrastructure planning, or related technical fields.Capability to conduct structured research, synthesize evidence, and present findings clearly in writing.Comfort working with quantitative methods or data (e.g., basic modeling, spreadsheets, or statistical tools).Effective communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and engage in constructive critique.Self-directed work style, reliability in meeting deadlines, and openness to feedback in a fast-evolving early-stage environment.Based in or able to regularly work from the Riyadh Region, with readiness for a hybrid onsite/remote arrangement.Background in engineering, economics, public policy, data science, or a related discipline is beneficial; graduate students and early-career professionals are welcome.
