An early-stage AI startup combining LLMs with algorithmic and optimisation techniques to power better decision-making is looking for a Founding Engineer.The successful candidate will be a hands-on engineer who builds the core product from the ground up.ResponsibilitiesOwn product engineering end-to-end: architecture, backend, frontend and cloud infrastructureBuild the APIs and services connecting the LLM layer, solvers and knowledge libraryTake features from 0→1 and ship them to productionPartner with AI researchers to turn prototypes into reliable product featuresDesign systems for asynchronous, long-running, compute-intensive workloadsSet engineering standards (testing, CI/CD, code review) for future hiresRequirements5–8 years of software engineering experience (or equivalent), with a CS or related degreeStrong backend skills in Python plus solid REST API designExperience with cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure), containers, CI/CD and monitoringPractical frontend experienceTrack record of taking products from early stage to production, ideally as an early or sole engineerComfort with ambiguity and strong technical judgmentBonus: experience with LLM APIs, agents or AI workflowsPlease reach out to nigelm@charterhouse.com.sg for more information.EA License no.: 16S8066Reg.
