Direct CTO partnership from day one, with real ownership over how the systems get built.What you'll do- Design and build core backend systems from the ground up- Work closely with the CTO on architecture and technical direction- Take ownership of reliability, data integrity, and system performance as the product scales- Help set engineering standards and practices for the team as it growsWhat they're looking for- 5+ years building, shipping, and operating production backend systems- Strong fluency in a modern backend language, plus data infrastructure- A track record of systems that scale- Real on-call experience where bugs have cost money, data, or trust- Comfort with ambiguity and broad ownership at founder stageBonus- Fintech, brokerage, payments, or crypto-exchange background- Broker or clearing integration experience, or FIX protocol / market data exposure- Double-entry or event-sourced ledger design- Multi-currency or cross-border payments experience- Comfort in regulated or high-compliance environmentsDetails- NYC based (hybrid office)- Competitive salary plus meaningful equity- No sponsorship providedIf this sounds like you, or someone in your network, send me a message.FinEx Recruitment
