Founding ML Researcher (AI x Bio)

Machine Learning Scientist | Post-Training & Life SciencesKadence is partnered with an AI x Bio company that is hiring a hands-on Machine Learning Scientist/Founding Researcher to build and improve models for life-sciences applications.The RoleFine-tune open-source models using SFT, DPO, RLHF, GRPO or related methods.Build training datasets, reward signals and evaluation frameworks.Apply machine learning to complex biological and scientific data.Own projects from initial requirements through experimentation and delivery.Work closely with researchers, leadership and external stakeholders.Help shape the modeling strategy within a small technical team.RequirementsStrong Python and PyTorch experience.Proven experience training or post-training deep-learning models.Some background in biology, biotechnology, healthcare research or a related scientific field.Strong experimental judgment and model-evaluation skills.Ability to independently deliver technically ambiguous projects.Computational biology or bioinformatics experience is particularly valuable.A PhD is welcomed but not required.Location and CompensationNew York City, four days per week on-site.Relocation considered.$200,000–$300,000 base salary plus equity.
