Founding Operations Lead | HFT / Prop Trading | LondonI’m working with a highly ambitious, early-stage technology and trading business building at the intersection of AI, real-time data and high-frequency trading.They are looking to hire a Founding Operations Lead who will work directly with the founders and take broad ownership across the commercial and operational build-out of the firm.This is not a traditional middle-office operations role.The successful candidate will be expected to help scale the business across:Commercial strategy and business developmentOriginating, negotiating and executing strategic dealsNew market, venue and product expansionExchange, broker, clearing and counterparty relationshipsStrategic partnerships and vendor negotiationsBuilding operational processes and infrastructure from the ground upSupporting the launch of new trading activitiesWorking closely with trading, engineering, legal, compliance and external stakeholdersThe role is expected to develop into a Chief Operating Officer position as the company scales.Key requirements:Experience within a leading HFT, proprietary trading, market-making or systematic trading firmDemonstrable experience of business development, commercial negotiations and getting strategic deals over the lineEvidence of having built, launched or scaled new businesses, markets, products or operational capabilitiesStrong understanding of the trading ecosystem, ideally including exchanges, brokers, clearing firms, counterparties and market infrastructure providersA prestigious academic background from a leading university (Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial etc...)
